A Vehicle Routing Problem Arising in the Distribution of Higher Education Institutions Exam Booklets

In this paper, the exam booklet distribution plan for Higher Education Institutions Exam (HEIE) is studied. The accurate important to decrease transportation cost and use capacity efficiently. booklets should be considered as capacitated vehicle routing problem (VRP). context, aim of paper minimizing cost/distance from depot where are kept schools with vehicles. case Gaziantep city 135 nodes (one 134 schools) considered. To model solve problem, a mixed integer programming (MIP) developed applied. Due large size VRP tool Esri ArcGIS (well-known geographic information system (GIS) software) OR-tool Google also applied get an acceptable solution in reasonable time. Finally, proposed three plans compared each other results discussed. Our numerical show that tools decreases total route distance by 8.21% 3.02% MIP model, respectively.
